TritonTrak’s Bonfire Weekend Recovery Success

While everyone was enjoying bonfire night with fireworks and a Bailey’s hot chocolate, the TritonTrak team were working on the recovery of a Bobcat mini excavator that was stolen from a plant hire company in Derbyshire.

The Bobcat was hired by a company who claimed to be from Sidcup in Kent. However, on Friday the machine was taken from a site in Chesterfield to a yard in Burnley where the hard-wired tracking unit which had been installed to the machine was removed.

Thankfully, the machine was also fitted with TritonTrak’s micro battery-powered asset tracking system, which allowed our customer support team to begin tracking the machine. The TritonTrak micro battery-powered tracking unit initiated recovery mode, which showed the machine heading east.

The machine was shortly recovered in cooperation with West Yorkshire police from inside a container at a compound in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

This was significant relief to our client as the machine value was approx. £10,000 to their business.
