Triton Plant Tracking Security System Stops Another Theft
TritonTrak’s Plant tracking security system has foiled an attempted theft of a customer’s plant machine, a Kubota K008 micro excavator. The plant machine, one of an eighty strong fleet, all of which are protected by TritonTrak’s plant tracking system, was stolen from a site near Ardingly, West Sussex late at night on the 26th July. The plant tracking security system kicked-in when the machine, worth £15,000, was started. This enabled the plant machine to be tracked to a roadside located close to the site, ready for pick-up by the thieves.
TritonTrak’s plant tracking security system sent an alert regarding the unauthorised movement of the machine to the owner. Even though he was out of the country at the time, he was able to act quickly and contact his son, who with the police, recovered the plant machine and returned it back to their headquarters.
Dean Walker, TritonTrak’s Managing Director commented. “This is a great example of an investment in our plant tracking security system paying dividends. Not only in stopping the theft but also in avoiding the negative impact the loss of a plant machine can have on productivity and project deadlines.”
