TritonTrak Plant Tracking system recovers stolen New Holland excavator

A Croydon-based groundworks and civil engineering company has recovered a New Holland E29B mini-digger in Ashford, Middlesex.

The excavator was stolen from the contractor’s yards in Feltham. Although no security alarms had been set on the plant tracking system which was installed on the machine, the owners were able to use their TritonTrak app to see exactly when the machine had been stolen and more importantly, track its movements to a new location in Ashford, Middlesex.

With this information in hand, the owners informed the Metropolitan Police and made their way with officers to the machine’s new location, where they found it being used on a drainage job, with another company’s decals already on it.

Upon arrival at the site, the Police informed the new users that the machine they were operating was stolen. The users denied any knowledge that the digger was stolen and they claimed that the machine had been bought in good faith, in the pub that weekend.
